Autism Assessment

Service Description

Traditionally speaking, this is ‘the assessment process leading to clinical autism diagnosis’; however, we see  being Autistic as not a ‘disorder’ to ‘diagnose’. Autism is not a ‘condition’ you ‘have’ but simply your brain's operating style. We believe Autistic identification is best explored and established within a collaborative framework through talking with you, someone who knows you, and everyone's favourite, questionnaires.

Though actively affirming and strengths based in our approach, we take full account of your individual support needs and do our best to give individualised recommendations. Your assessment is completely valid in the eyes of the NHS and other providers as our psychologist has the qualifications and experience to provide assessments and diagnoses. We also support the opinion that our assessments are more tailored and comprehensive than many, and we are confident you will feel the same.

Process & Payment

Assessments are expensive, financially and emotionally. That's why we offer payment plans and talk with you about how you would like the schedule of the assessment to be. We also try to offer discounts where we can for those in financial need, students, and NHS workers. We will always do are best to work with you, as we are here to be supportive of you.

Mental Health Assessment

(To be assessed for a diagnosis other than ADHD & ASD)

Service Description

This is a standalone service for those who simply want to explore a potential diagnosis and do not want psychotherapy (through which Erika can explore potential diagnoses and diagnose when appropriate). This service varies in price as cost depends on what the assessment is for. Some assessments require more intensive methods than others, and thus more time/work. Some assessments we often do are for depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and bipolar disorder.

Some diagnostic outcomes can take one 1-hour meeting while others may need longer. This is case by case dependent. We want you to have a thorough, therapeutic, and the best quality assessment possible.

Price

Self pay: £140 per hour, on average.
If using insurance: Dependent on the insurance policy.

Exceptional Experience Consultation

1 hour
Online, come to you or one of the following offices -
Psychosynthesis - London Bridge
Rooms for Therapists - West Hampstead

Service Description

"Anomalous" experiences (AE) go by many names: exceptional, paranormal, spiritual, unusual, peak, mystical, psi, etc. The term can be applied to a phenomenon which, "is unexpected according to conventional scientific knowledge, but which does not commit the user to any particular type of explanation" (PA, 2015).

Some examples of AE include near-death experiences, apparitions, psi, mediumship, out-of-body experiences, precognitive dreams, clairvoyance, etc.

People who report AE are often treated as mentally ill, and while some AE show similarities with mental disorders, they are not inherently indicative of illness. In fact, the majority of people who report AE do not have any mental illness (Fach et al., 2013).

AE can impact all aspects of wellbeing, both in positive ways and negative ways (Pratte, 2021). For instance, one may think they are going "crazy" because they've been seeing a recently deceased loved one. They want to confide in someone but are afraid of being judged badly. Who can they turn to?

When given the right opportunities to be processed thoroughly, anomalous experiences can foster healthy and beneficial changes in the experiencer (Braud, 2010).

Holistic Head Health has a subsidiary service called Anomalous Research, Counselling, & Consultation (ARCC). ARCC provides an opportunity to work with your anomalous experiences in a confidential, neutral, and safe setting through one of our three services: consultation, psychotherapy, or case research. To inquire about any of these services, please contact Dr. Pratte.
